Couples Counseling
For Couples & Partners
Mindful Transitions, LLC., offers therapy for couples as well as individuals and families. Couples therapy is offered both in person as well as virtually. Couples therapy is appropriate for couples/partners who are dating, married, separated, or those struggling with connection or contemplating divorce. Couples therapy helps couples learn healthier forms of communication, boundary setting, working on goals, parenting skills, financial management, navigating through disagreements, learning to use “I” statements, focusing on compromise, etc. Often couples will participate in both couples counseling as well as individual counseling. Similarly to individual therapy, couples therapy is not a “one size fits all” approach. Each therapist works with the couple on their struggles within the relationship and helps them to formulate goals and work on developing an appropriate treatment plan. Various methods and interventions are used during couples therapy to help build connection and work on improving communication.
I had a lot of difficult things hit me all at once and needed some help. When I found out James and I both had a first responder background, I felt a little more comfortable seeing him. I have now been seeing James for years and there isn't a single problem, whether work related or not, that he has been unable to help me. James is kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and an overall excellent therapist. He has helped me get my life back!
